Detailed Description Expressions of interest for Management Information System Assessment for the Department of Social Services.
The Department of Social Services (DSS) under the Ministry of Social Welfare (MoSW) is currently implementing several cash transfer programs to benefit the poorest and most vulnerable people in the country, the largest being the Old Age Allowance Program. Together with the Allowance for the Widow, Deserted and Destitute Women and Allowance for Financially Insolvent Disabled and Disabled Students Stipend, DSS reaches over eight million poor elderly, widowed and persons-with-disabilities. DSS has developed a Management Information System (MIS) for enhanced administration of its programs. The existing paper-based beneficiary records maintained at the upazila are currently being digitized and migrated into this system which is a central platform with local access from across the country.
