Detailed Description Rural and Regional Bus Contactless Reader Device

As part of the Rural & Regional (‘R&R’) Ticketing Program, TfNSW is seeking proposals from prospective proponents for the supply, installation, commissioning, and ongoing hardware and software support and compliance of Transit Payment Devices.

The Solution delivered will include, as appropriate, software, hardware, installation services, configuration, maintenance, support, training and services to implement the solution (the ‘Solution’).

The desired vehicle Transit Payment Device and telematics component of the Solution shall be installed on TfNSW Rural and Regional Bus Service Contract (‘RRBSC’) vehicles to allow customers to pay their bus fare with a contactless payment card (‘CPC’); offering a similar experience for customers in the Greater Sydney area using the existing Opal network.
