Detailed Description Electronic fare collection system


The City of Janesville/Janesville Transit System (JTS) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide an Electronic Contact-less Farebox Collection System.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals from qualified
Proposers to procure a modern, contact-less electronic farebox solution with the following attributes:
1. Zero physical contact between driver and riders for purposes of fare sales or fare acceptance.
2. Hardware validator for modern fare collection.
3. Bus operator override for the use of cash transactions.
4. Wireless data transfer process.
5. A fare collection vault dump system for secure transfer of cash from vehicle farebox to vault. Cash shall not be accessible by staff from time of insertion into farebox to time of emptying into vault.
6. The latest version of back-office software for staff use.
