Detailed Description Next Generation Clipper® (C2) Extended-Use Smart Cards (Fare Cards)

This purchase is for the supply of hot laminated white PVC/PET Mifare DESFire EV3 2 KB chip Fare Cards for use in a closed-loop transit fare payment system. MTC intends to purchase and provide Fare Cards to be used by customers, Transit Operators, and vendors as part of Next Generation Clipper.

MTC is soliciting bids to provide an estimated quantity of five million (5,000,000) Fare Cards for Next Generation Clipper (C2), the electronic fare payment system for the San Francisco Bay Area that is implemented and managed by MTC, as contracting agency, on behalf of more than twenty (20) of the region’s Transit Operators.

The contract will be awarded for a fixed duration and not a fixed quantity of Fare Cards. Order quantities will be established by annual MTC Purchase Orders, with delivery schedules to be negotiated.
